Music classes for adults
Start from zero at 25, 40 or 60. No previous experience, no instrument of your own, and no assumption that you should already know something.
What you actually get
Most adults who want to learn music stop at the same thought: that they have left it too late. They have not. What changes with age is not whether you can learn, but how the teaching should be structured around the time you actually have.
Built around your week
Weekday evening and weekend slots, one-to-one or small group, in person or online. Change the format later if your schedule does.
No audition, no prerequisite
The assessment needs no instrument and no experience. It measures aptitude, not existing skill, so beginners are not compared against anyone.
A reason to keep going
Adults who perform stay longer. The monthly open mic is open to every student, and first-timers are the point of it.
How we teach each age
The approach changes with the learner, not just the material. These are the same bands the assessment uses to build a plan.
Ages 19–35
Young Adults
Each topic carries practical musical context and is tied to real repertoire from the start. Largely self-directed, with structured teacher feedback every session.
Ages 36+
Adult Learners
Every topic includes a brief explanation of why it is being learned. Pacing is adjusted to your schedule and your long-term musical goals rather than a fixed course length.

Yes. Guitar is one of the most common instruments adult beginners start with, and nothing about starting at 40 prevents reaching a level where you can play songs you enjoy. Beginners work on chord shapes, a steady strum and a first full song before moving to harder material.
Yes. Adults with no musical background can start piano from scratch. Beginners typically start with rhythm, keyboard orientation, basic technique, simple notation, chords and ear training; progress depends mostly on practice consistency and lesson frequency rather than starting age.
Most adult beginners play a recognisable song within the first three months of weekly lessons and consistent short practice. Reaching an intermediate level, where you can read new music reasonably and play more demanding pieces, usually takes one to two years.
Fifteen to twenty minutes a day is enough to progress steadily, and it works better than one long weekend session. The limiting factor for most adult learners is consistency, not hours.
No. The free assessment and trial class need no instrument at all. Once you know which instrument suits you, we advise on what to buy at a beginner budget rather than assuming you already have one.
Both are available. One-to-one suits adults working toward a specific goal or an exam; small groups suit beginners who prefer learning alongside others. You can change format later if your goals or schedule change.
